Glue Bands

Codling, Plum and Pea Moth Control
The Solution: Pheremone Traps
A lure containing a sex attractant (pheromone) given off by the female moth attracts male moths to their death in the pheremone trap. Without male moths there will be no maggots.
In mid-May, one trap should be put out for every three apple or plum trees. For pea crops, put traps out at flowering. One trap should be enough for a row or number of rows totalling 20 metres in length.
The trap is easy to assemble, simply follow the instructions provided. The Plum and Codling Moth traps are supplied with 2 lures, the spare should be kept in the refrigerator and be used to replace the original after 5 weeks. The Pea Moth trap is supplied with one long life lure sufficient for one season.
The codling moth, plum moth and pea moth pheremone lures are specific to these moths and do not attract beneficial insects or bees.

SlugX - Slug and Snail Trap
The SlugX trap is an ideal "magnet" or trap for slugs and snails no matter how large or small. The ideal bait for SlugX is beer - slugs aren't choosey and any type will do! Slugs and snails are attracted into the trap by the smell of beer.
The SlugX trap can be placed anywhere in your garden, on patios, lawns or any flat surface. SlugX can even be put on greenhouse staging to protect young seedlings from slug and snail attacks!
Once in position, the three wells inside the trap should be filled with beer to within 5mm of the top. Then simply replace the lid and the trap is set. The trap should be emptied every 4 - 5 days and flushed out with clean water before being re-set.

Yellow Sticky Traps
Yellow Sticky Traps can be used against a number of insect pests including Whitefly, Thrips, Leaf Miners and Aphids (greenfly and blackfly) in greenhouses and conservatories.
Yellow sticky traps can be used early in the season to monitor pests, small flying insect pests are attracted by the colour of the traps and stick to the outer coating.
These traps should be hung just above the growing points of plants, as well as monitoring they can be used to help reduce levels of pests.
NB. Remove yellow sticky traps before introducing biological controls.
